Project HOPE 100 is Child of Hope's flagship education pilot for vulnerable children in Uganda—combining school access with wellbeing, safeguarding and family follow-up.

The public campaign

Help children stay in school—and stay supported.

A child's education can be interrupted by much more than school fees. Uniforms, learning materials, meals, health needs and pressure at home can all push a vulnerable child out of school. Project HOPE 100 brings these needs together in one practical, accountable programme.

What the project does

Support that follows the child, not just the school term.

Children are identified through household assessment and school verification. Support can include essential school costs and requirements, nutrition and basic wellbeing needs, mentorship, safeguarding and termly follow-up with families and schools.

Where we begin

Five pilot districts

The pilot is designed for Wakiso, Namisindwa, Manafwa, Sironko and Hoima. The final cohort remains 100 children, with selection based on verified vulnerability, school status and safeguarding considerations.

How children are selected

Support is based on verified need.

Household vulnerability and financial pressure
Risk of dropping out or prolonged school absence
Child-protection or wellbeing concerns
Caregiver vulnerability or family instability
Disability or chronic health needs where relevant
Commitment by the child and caregiver to continued schooling

Safeguarding first: fundraising, photographs and donor communication never take priority over a child's safety, privacy and dignity.

Individual supporters

Project HOPE 100 on GoFundMe

Rather than asking the public to fund the entire institutional budget at once, the first crowdfunding milestone will focus on helping the first 25 children enter or remain in school with the agreed support package.

This creates a clear, achievable first milestone while the wider 100-child programme continues to seek grants and institutional sponsorship.
